How registering works

Tell us in the chat where you want to live, the size of home you need, your budget and when you want to move. Your details go to our lettings team, and we contact you when a home that fits comes up.

What to have ready

When you apply for a home you’ll usually be asked for:

• Photo ID
• Proof of your right to rent in the UK
• Proof of income, such as payslips, bank statements or benefit letters
• References, for example from a previous landlord or employer

Some people may also be asked for a guarantor. Having these ready can help things move faster.

Help with housing costs

If you get Universal Credit or other help with housing costs, or a council or support worker is helping you find a home, mention it in the chat. It helps us understand what you need.

At a viewing

• Look at the condition of the home and the furniture, if any
• Check the heating and hot water, and look for signs of damp
• Ask which bills are included in the rent
• Think about travel to work, school and shops
• Ask what you need to do to apply

Before you sign

• Read the tenancy agreement carefully and ask about anything you’re unsure of
• Check the rent, what it includes, and how and when to pay
• If you pay a deposit, ask how it will be protected
• Keep copies of everything you sign and receive
